Take the sweet tour and see how our local businesses have put their own twist on delicious, homemade cinnamon rolls as you explore historic Parowan.
In 2016, world renowned community development and branding expert Roger Brooks visited Parowan. He was delighted by the hometown feel and home cooked food. At that time, he challenged historic Parowan to become the place to get “The Best Cinnamon Roll in the West”. Over the last four years, the businesses community of Parowan has stepped up to become standouts in creating individual takes on a hometown favorite.
Looking for a traditional cinnamon roll? Choose from Mama Laynes, Parowan Cafe, Sweet Pea Farm & Orchard or Your Story Utah. You can pick your favorite but be sure to let the owner-baker know. Cinnamon roll baking is a competitive sport in these parts! For a creative twist on the cinnamon roll, visit Calvario’s Family Restaurant for a cinnamon roll churro or cinnamon roll chimichanga. Another delicious cinnamon roll option for the ice cream lovers is the Dairy Freeze cinnamon roll shake. Yum!
Finally, for those of you who want to really get the beat on Parowan, stop at the Parowan Visitor’s Center. Gifts, maps and souvenirs are available along with cinnamon roll and local site seeing information by the nicest people you will ever meet who will make you feel like family.
Stop in Parowan for cinnamon rolls, friendly faces and don’t miss places. See you soon!
As the first settlement of southern Utah (settled January 13, 1851), Parowan is affectionately called the "Mother Town of Southern Utah". Many of the original homes and business buildings still line the downtown area of the community, along with a tree-lined Main Street that take visitors on a nostalgic trip back through time.
Pioneer museums, a historic cemetery and numerous historic sites are open for visitors to explore. Take a step back in time and become part of a Norman Rockwell setting in a rural, farming community that immediately feels like home.
Parowan also is the gateway from Interstate 15 to some of the most spectacular scenic attractions, state and national parks, Utah’s Patchwork Parkway Historic Byway 143, and varied natural geological formations.
